1. Information TipTunes collects

TipTunes collects information needed to operate the platform for performers, fans, and public visitors. The categories of information we collect depend on how you use TipTunes—for example, whether you create a performer account or browse public pages as a visitor.

The sections below describe the specific information collected from performers, from fans and public visitors, and through the technical operation of the website and application.

2. Information provided by performers

Performers create an account and provide information used to build their public identity and run interactive shows. This may include a display name, username, email address, performer profile details, a song catalog, and gig information.

Performers may also provide a username for a supported tipping service (see “Tipping integrations”) so fans can be directed to tip them.

3. Information provided by fans and public visitors

Public visitors can browse the public marketing website and public performer experiences without creating an account. Visiting the public website does not create an anonymous account.

Fans who participate in a live gig may provide information such as a display name and song requests, and may set a display preference such as a light or dark theme. This information is used to operate the live experience for the performer and audience.

4. Authentication and account information

TipTunes uses Firebase Authentication to manage performer accounts. When a performer signs up or signs in, authentication information such as an email address and credentials is processed to create and secure the account.

Browsing the public marketing pages does not require authentication and does not create an anonymous user.

5. Public performer profiles

Performer profiles are designed to be public. Information a performer adds to their public profile—such as display name, profile details, and song catalog—can be viewed by anyone who visits the performer’s TipTunes link or scans their QR code.

6. Gig, catalog, request, and interaction data

To run interactive shows, TipTunes stores gig details, song catalogs, song requests, and related interaction activity (such as which songs have been requested or recently played) using Google Firebase Firestore. Performer-uploaded images are stored using Firebase Storage.

7. Payment and subscription providers

TipTunes does not process or store payment card details, and does not store tip or payment transaction records. Tips are handled directly by third-party tipping services chosen by the performer (see “Tipping integrations”).

8. Tipping integrations

TipTunes supports directing fans to tip performers through Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App. For these integrations, TipTunes stores only the performer’s username for the relevant service so fans can be directed to the correct destination. TipTunes does not store tip amounts, transaction histories, or other payment metadata.

When a fan chooses to tip, they are directed to the third-party service, which processes the payment under its own terms and privacy policy. TipTunes does not control and is not responsible for the data practices of those services.

9. Cookies, analytics, and device information

TipTunes uses Firebase Authentication, which stores information in your browser (such as local storage) to keep performers signed in. TipTunes also uses Firebase App Check with Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to help protect the platform from automated abuse; reCAPTCHA may collect device and usage information as described in Google’s privacy policy.

TipTunes does not currently run a product analytics provider on the website.

10. How information is used

TipTunes uses the information it collects to operate and improve the platform, including to create and secure accounts, display public performer profiles, run live gigs and song requests, direct fans to a performer’s chosen tipping service, and protect the platform from abuse.

11. How information is shared

Public performer profile and gig information is shared publicly by design. TipTunes uses service providers—including Google Firebase—to host data and operate the platform. TipTunes does not sell personal information.

12. Data retention

TipTunes retains information for as long as needed to operate the platform and provide the service, such as while a performer account is active.

13. Account deletion

Performers may request deletion of their account and associated information.

TipTunes uses Google Firebase security features and Firebase App Check to help protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and TipTunes cannot guarantee absolute security.

TipTunes is intended for performers and adult audiences and is not directed to children.

TipTunes may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date above will be revised. Significant changes may be communicated through the website or application.
